Gaian Anchor: Vietnam, payable from any Stellar wallet

In Vietnam, shops, taxis and street stalls take payment by bank QR code, and only someone with a Vietnamese bank account can pay one. Gaian already lets people pay those codes with USDC. This proposal opens that door to every Stellar wallet.

What we run today

Gaian began in June 2025 as a consumer wallet MVP for friends in Da Nang who had money and jobs and still struggled to pay for everyday things in Vietnam. Other wallets wanted the same payments for their users, so in October 2025 we turned Gaian into payment infrastructure: wallets and exchanges add QR payments without writing payment code or finding local payment partners. Today a user scans a merchant's QR code in a partner wallet, pays in USDC, and the merchant receives Vietnam Dong (VND) in their bank account seconds later through a licensed local payment provider.

The gap

Today a wallet app can use this only after signing with us and writing custom code. Every other Stellar wallet has no way to pay a Vietnamese merchant, because there is no VND on Stellar: the Stellar Anchor Directory lists 74 anchors and none of them offers the Vietnamese dong. Our volume still settles mostly on other chains.

What Stellar gets

A new country to spend in.Any Stellar wallet can let its users pay Vietnamese merchants, with no contract and no integration project with us.
A live business on day one.The payout side already runs every day with real merchants. The grant connects it to Stellar instead of building a new product.
More uses for every Stellar asset.Users can pay in USDC, XLM or any other Stellar asset the DEX can swap to USDC, and every payment settles on Stellar.
A path for the next country.We publish the code, so the next bank-QR country in the region starts from working software.

Who builds it

The ask

Four milestones over about six months, priced by deliverable below. The last 40% is paid only after $20,000 of real customer payments move through the anchor within 60 days of mainnet launch.

The scope, in two parts

  1. Gaian becomes Vietnam's payment anchor on Stellar. We run Stellar's standard anchor protocols on our live payout rail.
  2. Pay with any Stellar asset. We integrate Soroswap and Stellar Broker to swap XLM or any asset with DEX liquidity to USDC before payout.

Both ship on testnet first, then on mainnet with three external wallets.

The $20,000 counts only real customer payments into our registered accounts, never users, transactions or our own test traffic. Gaian pays for the fiat side, hosting, legal and marketing.
